Take a walk on the wild side
Moorland View Cottage is in the heart of one of Dartmoor, one of the UK's largest remaining wildernesses. Walking trails take in prehistoric villages, wooded glades, open moorland, 13th century hamlets, and snug, country pubs. There's the chance of spotting wild ponies, birds of prey, kingfishers, otters and rare butterflies.

Pamper yourself at a country club
Moorland View Cottage guests have complimentary use of Bovey Castle, Dartmoor's most exclusive country club, just a ten-minute walk, or two-minute drive, from the cottage. Facilities include a beautiful indoor pool with floor to ceiling windows, tennis courts, spa, championship golf course and gym.

Get a natural high
Horseriding, kayaking, rock climbing, fly fishing, wild swimming, clay pigeon shooting, hunting, off-roading - Dartmoor is an outdoor lovers' playground.

Taste the difference
Devon - and Dartmoor in particular - is packed with fantastic farmers' markets, gastro pubs, farm shops and organic restaurants.

Be beside the seaside
Dartmoor is 40 minutes away from the South Hams, with its sugar white sandy beaches, warm (ish) swimming, craggy coastal walks and characterful fishing villages.

Shoppe till you droppe
Topsham, Ashburton, Honiton and Chagford are pretty local towns, which are crammed with galleries, antique shops, gorgeous boutiques, tea shops, pubs and delis.

Learn something new
A cookery course, astronomy lesson or surfing session - Moorland View makes a great base for learning something new.

Get to the art of it
With its wild beauty and crisp light, Dartmoor is a haunt of artists, craftsmen and musicians. Look out for potteries, weavers and artists' studios tucked away in local villages.

Visit an ancient building
Exeter Cathedral, Okehampton Castle, Buckfast Abbey and Castle Drogo are our favourites.
